Ormem is built so your thoughts stay on your phone. In the current version there is no account, and nothing you write leaves your device unless you deliberately choose to share it.
Nothing that leaves your device. Ormem does not send your notes, transcripts, images, location, or usage to us or to any third party. The app makes no network requests to transmit your content.
Your notes are stored in an encrypted database on your device (protected by iOS Data Protection). Because everything is local and there is no backup service in this version, your notes exist only on this phone. If you delete the app, lose your device, or reset it, your notes are permanently gone and we cannot recover them — we have no copy and no record that they existed.
Ormem asks for permissions only to power features you use, and the data stays on your device:
Features like cleanup, to-do extraction, summaries, day recaps, and search run using Apple's on-device intelligence (the Foundation Models framework). This processing happens on your iPhone. Ormem does not send your content to us or to a cloud service for these features.
We do not embed any analytics or tracking SDKs. Apple may provide us with aggregate, non-identifying metrics (such as total installs and crash reports) through App Store Connect; this contains no personal information and no note content.
Ormem is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any information from them (in fact, we do not collect information from anyone).
If future versions add optional features that involve a server (for example, an encrypted backup or cloud AI), those features will be opt-in, clearly labelled, and this policy will be updated to describe exactly what they do before they ship.
