API Terms
The rules for using the Ormem API during the invite-only beta, in plain words.
The beta
The API is in an invite-only beta. It works and we look after your data carefully, but things may change, break or be briefly unavailable while we improve it. There's no uptime guarantee during the beta.
These terms are between you and Closepixels, a sole proprietorship of Suyog Eleyadath, Udumalpet, Tamil Nadu, India ("we"). If you sign up for a company, you agree for that company.
Your account and keys
- Keep your API keys secret and on your server. You're responsible for what's done with your keys. If one leaks, cancel it on your Account page.
- One account per customer. Don't share sign-in access outside your team.
Plans and limits
- The Free plan includes a set number of messages and questions each month, shown on your Account page. When you reach it, requests are refused until the 1st of next month.
- Paid plans will be offered later. We'll tell you the price before you're ever charged, and nothing is billed without your agreement.
- We may change the Free plan's limits. We'll give notice before lowering them.
Your data
What you send stays yours. You give us permission to store it and process it only to run the API for you, as the Privacy Policy describes. You can export or erase it at any time.
You promise you have the right to send it: your users know their messages are remembered, and sending them to Ormem is allowed by the law and your own terms.
What's not allowed
- Breaking the law, or helping someone else to.
- Sending data you have no right to, such as people's messages without their knowledge.
- Sending passwords, card numbers or government ID numbers.
- Trying to reach other customers' data, get around limits, or overload the service.
- Reselling plain access to the API without building something of your own on it.
Answers come from AI
Answers are written by AI models from your users' memories. They cite their sources, but they can still be wrong. Don't rely on them alone for medical, legal, financial or safety decisions.
Suspending and ending
- You can stop at any time by deleting your account; everything is erased after 30 days.
- We may suspend an account that breaks these terms or puts the service or other customers at risk. Where we can, we'll warn you first. Suspending keeps your data; you can still ask us for an export.
- If we ever close the API, we'll give at least 30 days' notice so you can export your data.
Liability
The beta is provided as it is. As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect losses such as lost profits or data, and our total liability is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the last 12 months or US$100. Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited by law.
Changes and law
We'll email you before changes that matter take effect. These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Tamil Nadu have jurisdiction.
